Christmassy Sketch Challenge

I've been playing around with some of my older Christmas papers and came up with this card for my Sketch Challenge Design.

AHSC #241
What I love about these older papers is the Sea Glass color in the background paper and the glitter papers. One of my favorite colors.

But I couldn't decide which background paper to use, so I did three cards. You tell me which one is your favorite?

Poinsettia Love

I won't lie and tell you that Poinsettias are my favorite flowers. They are not. Yet I do love my Poinsettias at Christmas time!

This little card is made with Poinsettias from the Close to my Heart Flower Market Cricut Cartridge. This is my offering for this week's Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

Poinsettia Love

This was very fun to make using shimmer trim for the stripes on the left side. Here is the sketch:

Cats & Bats Shaker Card

It's Halloween at the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge - for me anyway.

Here is the sketch we are designing with this week:

I love this one!  You can get all the details of how to play along on the AHSC blog here.  The design team creations will be posted Wednesday so you can check out what we've all done!

As mentioned, I decided on a Halloween themed card.  I thought the sketch lent itself to a shaker card, so that's what I did.
Close to my Heart - Cats & Bats

Apparently I decided to give up all my confetti a while back so I created my own with my Cricut.

I created another card with this sketch using a fall theme:

Bashfully Sympathetic

Bringing you some inspiration with our new Color of the Year, Bashful.  This card is inspired by the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge #231.  Here is the sketch.

A friend mine just lost her husband to cancer and I wanted to send her something with soft muted colors.

Sympathy Card
When I was done with the card I wasn't happy with so much white around the focal point so I used a small rose stamp from the set and created a soft lacy effect all around the edges.

Lacy Border Effect
Now go, find your inspiration on the AHSC blog and play along!  It's so much fun!

A Spooky Boo!

Time for another episode of Atlantic Heart Sketch Challenge.  Here is the Sketch for this week, September 11th.

Check out how to play along and be inspired on the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge blog.  You can add your creation through Sunday so you still have lots of time to create.

I pretty much followed the sketch very literally this week.  I created two cards to share with you.  The first is Halloween inspired.

Cats & Bats

Cats & Bats inside
I wasn't able to adequately photo the paper behind the spider.  The web is lightly sponged then brushed with a clear shimmer pen and the web accentuated with liquid glass. It's quite fabulous in person. 😁 I stamped a big BOOO! for the inside and colored in with my ShinHan markers for a nice monochromatic card.

Falling for You
My Thank You card was stamped in Nutmeg and colored in with my ShinHan markers. I chose an assortment of fall colors and added coordinating sequins in a solid line. I love how that turned out as I usually only scatter sequins.  It's fun to try "new" things and change it up.

Thanks for stopping by!

Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge 225

Hi all!

I'm checking in from my cross country road trip. I'm in Red Lodge, MT today. We just drove part of the Beartooth Highway this afternoon... what amazing views! Check this out:

I may have neglected to mention that I have joined the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge Design Team.  This road trip is getting in the way of me being on task with my duties, so please forgive me for being so rushed and short.  So much to do, so little time!

Here is the Sketch Challenge for this week. Check it out on the AHSC blog and play along!

And here is my idea using this sketch:

There is a new sketch challenge every week at Atlantic Hearts and I encourage you to participate! It's a great way to get those creative juices flowing!  Thanks for stopping by today!

Sweet Baby Jack - Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge 222

I have been invited by Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge to be a guest artist for their Sketch #222. Wow - I am so very honored!

Here is their Sketch Challenge #222 which my design is based on.

If you haven't done a sketch challenge before, or even if you have, I encourage you to participate. Here is the Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge website

My first desire was to use some of our brand new Close to my Heart products coming on August 1st. Yes, I'm offering up a sneak peek!  Secondly, Atlantic Hearts doesn't require your entry to be a card, but it can be anything based on the sketch.  Thinking about one of my favorite new stamp sets and a favorite new little person, I decided on a layout.

If there were prizes for the best entry, I'm sure I'd win. Not because my art is so great, but because the photo in the layout is so amazingly cute!  I had to borrow my friend's grandson for my layout... and I probably won't even be able to keep the layout when she or her daughter sees it. At least I had fun making it!

Now, come August first you'll be able to get some of these new stamps and paper , too.  Here's where to get them, shop with me.  Here's what I used:

Z3350 - Whimsy Fundamentals Paper Pack
Z3376 - Sweet Baby Stamp Set & Thin Cuts
D1729 - Colorblock Alphabet Stamp Set
Z3362 - Adventure Ribbon Pack
Z3345 - Thin Cuts - Basic Banners
CTMH Cardstock & Ink colors: Glacier, Crystal Blue, Lagoon

No Worries (be happy!)

Fabulous Five brought to you by the month of May

May kicks off our Seasonal Expression II catalog and fun new products.  The following cards were created in my Fabulous Five class featuring some of the new products.  Enjoy!

These first two feature our "Jack" papers used in the Father's Day Cardmaking Kit.  It's so much more versatile than just for Father's Day.  I love the more masculine feel of these.  Of course I gave my versions a few tweaks by adding the Wood Slats embossing folder texture and using the zip strip from the paper.

Next up and right on trend are cards made with the Little Dreamer cardmaking stamps & thin cuts bundle and the Little Dreamer paper pack.  So cute & sweet!!  Check out the paper pack for sure! Whether you are a Unicorn fan or not, there is so much to love in this new package!

My last card is using the May Stamp of the Month, Live Laugh Love, coupled again with the Little Dreamer papers and a resist technique.

If you missed out on the class this month, I hope you will join me next month!
