A Sip of Sangria

My next class of layouts features the luxurious rich colors of the Close to my Heart Sangria Paper Pack. Colors so rich you can almost taste them. Our newest colors are represented here, Eggplant, Pomegranate, & Poppy.

Layout One
I fell in love with these papers the moment I saw them.  To me they are reminiscent of traditional East India colors.

Layout Two
Embellished with Sangria Complements, a variety of stickers, chipboard, and velum.

Layout Three
Although the colors remind me of the hottest part of the summer, the swirly leafy pattern also is perfect for autumn photos. I've added a Cricut cut border of leaves as an accent.

Layout Four
And the last of my four 2-page layouts.  These are going to be perfect for some of my travel photos from this summer.

Supplies needed for these pages:

X7199B - Sangria Paper Pack
Z3084 - Sangria Assortment

Z3094 - Poppy Thick Twine
G1097 - Sangria Workshop on the Go (Includes the above three items as well as the Sangria WOTG Stamp set
X7199C - Sangria Complements

Z2652 - Poppy Exclusive Inks Stamp Pad
Z2647 - Eggplant Exlusive Inks Stamp Pad

Fall Kick-off with Zoe!

First day of fall has arrived and I'm still waiting for the weather to turn cool.  But for now remaining in the cool indoors and playing with paper and glue is my retreat from the heat.

Dipping my toes fingers into the first of our new paper packs I'm bringing you designs with Zoe. I'm trying to find the right words to describe these papers and both "bright" and "muted" come to mind. Now to try to make sense of that!

Zoe's colors are not shy. Neither do they overpower your photos.  Adding some shimmer trim gives them a solid pop of fun. These layouts will hold more of my photos from the Close to my Heart 2015 convention.

Zoe Layout #2
Don't laugh but I am most excited about these grays.  Visiting the Lava Tube Caves on my Oregon trip, I took photos that will be amazing on these pages. As soon as I've printed them these will be filled and journaled.

I added a small amount of paper from our Nevermore Paper Pack to this layout. I love how well they work together.  You can get a glimpse of it in the lower right of this photo.

Classes are scheduled for these two layouts.  Leave a comment or contact me for more details prior to October 1st.

Supplies used:

Picture My Life

Pocket scrapping.  Is it for you?

To be honest, it's not my favorite type of scrapping.  I've seen some gorgeous pocket albums, and I really respect the craft.  But for me it's like trying to explain why I'm not a fan of coconut.  I'm just not, yet I've seen some amazing looking coconut desserts.

So why am I even writing about pocket scrapping?  Because the Picture My Life products made for pocket scrapping by Close to My Heart are just too fun to overlook.  So I use them in different ways.  I add them to my traditional scrapping.  I cut them up and use bits & pieces as embellishments.  I make cards with them. And some are perfect for slipping into my husband's pocket or briefcase for him to find later.

I love Picture My Life!

So now that I am amassing a collection of PML cards, I want to show you an easy way to store them and have them easily at hand.

One of our My Acrylix Organizers is perfect for all the new cards.  I've made little "pockets" with card stock to keep them separate and labeled.  Please note: the Mini Stamp Organizer will not accommodate the Picture My Life cards.

Okay, I confess this is really just a suggestion because I have lots of PML cards from past catalogs that I haven't used up yet.  Here's the real deal using our Medium Storage Organizer. You may notice that the back half of the organizer is nothing but Picture My Life.

Did you know that the older cards have not retired? Find the new and old online here, Picture My Life.
Let me tell you what has changed about the cards marked "new."  The same image is on front and back of each card.  You can now choose the orientation that best suits your scrapping just by flipping the card over. Here is an example.

The top & bottom cards are the same size, it's my collage program that makes them look different.

Below are samples of all the newest PML cards.  Just like me, you are going to want them all.

During the month of September 2015, if you order a set, or two or three of Picture My Life cards, and the My Acrylix Organizer or the Medium Storage Organizer, I will email you an easy to follow set of instructions for making the card holders out of card stock.

I'll be back soon with some samples of how I use the PML cards.

Let Jackson be your Guide to the Great Outdoors!

Hi, did you miss me?  I've had a very busy couple of months with an impromptu trip to Nashville, multiple birthday celebrations, Close to my Heart adventures, and amazing surprises.  The biggest of which was my youngest daughter flying home for a long weekend as my Mothers' Day gift. That became the busiest weekend of all! We went to the movies, did a wine & painting event, got mani-pedi's, gave blood, ate out about a dozen times, had a lazy Sunday morning breakfast - and those are only the things that included me. She spent a lot of her time with her sister and friends.  It was the best surprise ever!

Layout #1

So now, back to work play and time to share some layouts. These are done with the Jackson Papers from the Seasonal Expressions 2 Idea Book.  Jackson is just made to highlight your summer adventures and travels.  I can hardly wait to start traveling and camping just so I have new photos to use with Jackson!

Did you know you can tap on one of these photos for a larger view and then scroll through them?  Give it a try!

Spring, Easter, Girlfriends? Brushed is the Answer!

Since the current Close To My Heart Annual Inspirations debuted in August 2014, I've been aching to use the "Brushed" paper pack.  I've delayed doing so because I follow the seasons and it's truly a spring or summer paper.

Finally, the time is now!

These two layouts are so versatile.  I can see them filled with photos of my yard filled with the fresh blooms of my spring bulbs.  Or photos of little ones hunting Easter eggs in their new spring duds - cute flowered hats included for the girls, of course.  Or how about a couple of layouts of your own time spent with your BFFs?

And lastly, some detail close ups.  I love using the embossing folders to create more interest and textures.

For these layouts I used the Brushed Workshop on the Go.  It includes the Brushed Assortment of cute metalic flowers, a roll of Washi tape, and the stamp set used on the first layout.

Here is a complete list of items used and links to my website:

X7190B - Brushed Paper Packet
Z3013 - Brushed Assortment
G1087 - Brushed Workshop on the Go (includes prior 2 items plus stamp set)
Z1994 - Floral Embossing Folder
Z1924 - Dot Embossing Folder
Z2644 - Pixie Exclusive Inks pad
Z2128 - Hollyhock Exclusive Inks pad
Z2643 - Canary Exclusive Inks pad

Thanks for stopping by today.  I hope you found some inspiration!

Heartstrings

I want to share my Valentine Day project with you, but first I have to apologize.

1) This post is so late because I wanted to be sure all the gifts were received before posting.

2) I sent them all away before I got the "real" photos. You know, the ones of the project finished?

These photos were taken as it was a "work in progress."  The bling and final touches are missing.  But I think you can still see the intention and be hopefully be inspired.

My Valentine goodies were sent out in quart size paint cans, purchased from Home Depot.  I used the Close To My Heart "Heartstrings" paper pack and complements to decorate the cans.  Added after the photos was some more bling and Cricut cuts to personalize the lids.

I added a bag full of strawberry muddy buddies to the cans as my treat.  That recipe can be found here Sweetheart Buddies.

Heartstrings & Complements can only be purchased through the end of March.  Find them on my website, Heartstrings.

Sure hope your Valentine's day was good.  My sweetie completely spoiled me!

They are so pretty and so much fun to use with their bright springy colors.  The are perfect for chasing away the cold & gray of winter.

While the temperatures outside are currently single digits, working with these bright colors warms me inside.

A Yuletide Carol Update

I had not finished my second 2-page layout when I posted my classes for Yuletide Carol.  Just in case you own this paper pack and are looking for some inspiration, I'd like to share.

I am completely in love with the beautiful and delicate features of this paper pack.
