Laughing Lola a Paper Trail Blog Hop

It's here, it's here, my project for Laughing Lola!

I'm a bit late jumping onto the Paper Trail blog hop and I hope you've found me anyway. If you came along the trail leading to my blog you should have arrived from Mary's Road to Peace of Mind.  If you have been waiting for me and are just getting started, just follow the link at the end of the blog and you'll have a fun, creative journey full of Laughing Lola and end up right back here.

I did a two page layout and I don't mind telling you, I love it!

Surf's Up in Kentucky with the Paper Trail Bloggers

I think Willie said it best:

 On the road again -
Just can't wait to get on the road again.
The life I love is (crafting) with my friends

And I can't wait to get on the road again.

I've been MIA from my blog hops recently and I am happy to announce that I am back on track.  Some family issues are still on-going, but my time is freeing up to do what I love best- craft!  It feels wonderful to be back in the saddle...  or on the surfboard this month.

Welcome to the July episode of the Paper Trail blog hop.  This is a circular hop so you may have arrived from Amy's Pineapple Paper Artist blog or you may be just getting started. I hope you enjoy what each of us has to share.

We are using the Surf's Up paper pack from Close to my Heart. It's 60's style graphics with contemporary colors make it a fun pack to work with.

This is the layout my Monthly club will be doing for the month of June.

Sk8in' on the Paper Trail

Our Paper Trail blog hop this month features Close To My Heart "Later Sk8r," with colorful blues and greens - some of my favorite "happy colors."  The patterns are totally fun skater and splashy/sloppy prints, with great accents of plaid.

I'm happy you found me on the trail and I hope you enjoy the trip.  It matters not if you've come here from Amy's blog, Pineapple Paper Artist, or are just getting started.  Our path is circular and you will visit us all by following the links.

My contribution this month is a 2 page layout using pieces of one of our zip strips for accentuating a boy theme, but I'd be the last to say girls aren't skaters or don't like green or blue, so you could take it either way. .
Play Hard - two page layout

Play Hard - left page with spinner

Play Hard - right page

Play Hard - zip strip & epoxy bubbles embellishments

Thanks for stopping by today.  Your next stop on the trail is Connie's blog, Scraps & Stories.  I'm sure you will like what she's got for you!

1-2-3 Craft! Message Secured

Welcome to our little mini hop featuring CTMH designs.  This month our card pattern is from the CTMH how-to book, Originals, page 77 - Message secured.  I hope you enjoy my cards.

The white piece with the hearts is a flap that holds the card closed. I sponged the black and white paper from the CTMH For Always paper pack for a bright cheerful background. This card is 5"x7"

The tulle wrapped around the card front provides a closure to slip the flap under and and hold it closed.

Birthday card using the CTMH Chantilly paper pack.  I stamped the cupcake wrappers on the yellow patterned paper from the pack and then cut it out to give the cupcakes more depth.

The flap on this card is a tag from our Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.  It provides a nice slot for the ribbon to tie the card closed.

My whimsical wedding card using For Always.  This card is a standard 5-1/2"x 4-1/4".

The flap on this one is held closed with our tiny hook & loop dots.  Very clever!

And inside is a pocket for a gift card or money for the new couple.

Quick and easy graduation card.  Another 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" card.

A simple slit in the flap provides the ribbon access to hold the card closed.

The securing flap on this card is a bit smaller than the others.  It's is also held closed with a hook and loop dot.

My last card is also made using the CTMH For Always papers.  It is 5-1/2" x 4-14".

I created my closure to for this card using 2 brads and a length of baker's twine wrapped around them.

I added a little surprise to this card with a pop of color under the flap and a hidden flower.

I wanted to keep the sentiment simple on the inside to allow for lots of room for note writing.

That's all I have for you today.  Hop on over to Tracey's Paper Crafting Princess blog and Mary's Road to Peace of Mind or Escape blog to see what they have done with this card pattern.

April Showers Brings Claire Flowers

Welcome to the Paper Trail blog hop!  It's April and we are featuring the Close To My Heart Claire paper packet.

Our blog hop is circular - if you arrived from Connie's blog, Scraps & Stories you are right on track.  If you are just getting started just follow the links until you come back to me.  Enjoy the trip!

In order to add just a little dimension to the shells I used a daub of liquid glass on the back and gently laid it down on the card allowing it to dry without pushing the shell down. This added a little lift without being overwhelming like mounting tape would have been for these small embellishments.

I'm calling this my "thing" card.  The card technique was an IOD project which I decided to use Claire on and our cute spinners. I like my results, but I have no idea what I would use it for - an anniversary card perhaps?

Next on our trail is the Pineapple Paper Artist, Amy.  Hop on over to her blog for more inspiration.  Then join my followers and come back to visit often!

1, 2, 3 Craft! Playing the Egg Card

My challenge for 1,2,3 Craft is the Egg Card from the CTMH Art Philosophy Cricut Cartridge. I loved this challenge because it made me really think about ways to use an egg card, which is not so easy!

Below are photos of what I came up with.  I hope you enjoy them.
